James E. Fallon, of 300 Broadway, Pawtucket, R.I., passed away on October 13, 2021. He was the son of the late Arthur E. Fallon and Lillian (McNulty) Fallon.
Born in Providence, R.I., James attended and graduated from Rhode Island College and continued his education at University of Rhode Island and Brown University. In 1963 he was drafted into the United States Army, serving asU.S. Army Specialist, where he directed the personnel security investigation unit in the Intelligence Branch. He also spoke many languages and served as a translator while in the military.
After serving his country, James worked as a teacher for several years in the Providence and Central Falls School Systems. A brilliant mind and avid historian, he enjoyed being a museum interpreter at the Slater Mill Historic Site in Pawtucket, R.I. and the First Baptist Church in Providence, R.I. He then launched a long career as a Senior Management Analyst and Personnel Analyst, working for the State of R.I. in the Department of Administration and Division of Personnel. Later in life he had a keen interest in genealogy and ancestry of many families.
His expertise, loyalty, dedication, and passion for service were unparalleled, but above all, James was caring and humble. He will be remembered especially for his philanthropy work in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He unassumingly contributed to many families in need, helping with education costs and teaching others from foreign countries the English language. He was selfless, kind, and had a genuine love of life and people. He is deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
He is survived by three brothers, Brian Fallon and his wife Maureen of Pawtucket, R.I., Terrence Fallon and his fiancé JoAnn Thomas of Bradenton, FL, Kevin Fallon of Smithfield, R.I.; a sister, Mary Jane Fallon Seleyman of West Warwick, R.I.; and many nephews and nieces. He was the brother of the late A. Dennis Fallon and his wife Jeanine, Michael Fallon and his wife Nancy, and Joanne Fallon.
